Drums: Drums belong to the Sciaenidae
family which includes 270 species. They are bottom dwellers, found in the Atlantic, Indian, and Pacific
oceans. The dorsal fin is long and has a deep notch between the spinous and soft-rayed portions. Some species have barbels
on the chin. They are generally found in schools and are carnivores, feeding on invertebrates and small fish. They get their
common name from the sound they make using their swimbladder as a resonating chamber.
